Documented systems are maintained to ensure that we adhere to the three key policy statements covering these areas recognising that there are some common issues between them. These systems are routinely audited and continually updated and improved in light of changing circumstances and legislation.

At E.C.Williams quality means many things, getting the coating to specification, doing it consistently batch after batch, offering quality of support and expertise, delivering on time every time.

Our quality system has been registered with the BSI since 1992 and has been continually developed and improved. The current version meets the ISO standard 9001:2000. We affect the environment in two ways. Firstly by improving the performance of the components that we coat and secondly by ensuring that we use industry best practice to operate our plant and processes in the most environmentally efficient way.

The surface engineering industry offers great opportunities for long lasting improvements to the environment. A surface coating can offer several features to a component which will enhance its environmental performance. For example a good corrosion resistant finish will ensure that parts last longer so avoids early replacement and thereby reducing the need to consume more raw materials and energy. Also an electrical contact coated in an appropriate metal will work more efficiently, carry less current and last longer. The list is almost endless.

More recently we have been able to further improve environmental performance by the introduction of trivalent passivates.

Our on-site environmental performance is controlled by our environmental management system which is accredited to ISO14001.
